The New Facilities…

Thanks to you, we outgrew our original, smaller slaughterhouse! The construction of our 52’x32’ poultry slaughter facility was completed in 2013. The new premises are inspected and licensed by the Department of Agriculture to process both on-farm and off-farm (custom) birds. The facility consists of receiving, kill, evisceration, processing and packaging areas. We hope to finalize the completion of the building with the installation of a walk-in cooler and freezer, as finances permit.

Custom Slaughter…

We can now handle your custom poultry slaughter needs! If you don't want to process and dress your own birds, we can relieve you of that labourious, messy and unpleasant task! To arrange your birds to be processed, please click on the Order Forms: Custom Slaughter icon to the left or the link below. Note, we are not a continually inspected USDA poultry slaughter facility, therefore custom slaughter birds CANNOT be resold.

• What We Process
We can process all poultry, including water fowl (geese, ducks, etc.).

• How it Works

1. Click on the Order Forms: Custom Slaughter link below, or on the icon to the left, to submit a request for custom slaughter services. We recommend submitting a request at least one month in advance, due to the demand for this service.

2. We will email/telephone you to set up a date for slaughter.

3. Twenty-four hours before bringing your poultry for slaughter, take away all feed but continue to allow free access to water. We request that feed be withheld so that there is minimal fecal matter remaining in the bird at the time of slaughter. This makes the slaughter process cleaner and more sanitary for both of us.

4. You will need to transport your own birds, and leave them at our facility in your cages. We recommend allowing packed birds plenty of space to avoid suffocation. We are not responsible for bird deaths which result from poor packing.

5. After you drop your poultry off, we will contact you when they are ready for pick-up, generally within one to two days, unless other arrangements have been made in writing. Remember to take your cages back with you. We are not responsible for cages that have been left here after picking up your processed birds.

6. A few things to consider before you have your birds processed.
› Do you want to keep any of the innards, back, neck or feet?
› Do you want your birds packaged? If so:
    • Do you want them in zipping freezer bags?
    • Vacuum sealed bags?
› Are you going to freeze your birds or refrigerate them?
